I change my project preference to do the challenge this afternoon. I only have 3 cores working on boinc right now and 2 of them are only 12 hours a day. I dont have much interest in their challenges and the bs that they cause on the pg forums.

The bs is typical, I agree - this time the whinging is about too little credit and LLR making their laptops run too hot.

It's pretty hard to score points these days too. I'm only running a subset of machines on this challenge, since my AMD boxes are far better at AP26 or PPS/PSP Sieve.

I just finished reading the latest on the PG forums. I just have one thing to say... all the little boys with their little penis' need to calm down about the scores. Way to turn a fun little challenge into a fight over who can be the biggest ass. That is exactly why I decided to skip the challenge.

We came 40th - needed to be 35th to score anything.
But neither of us put loads on it - C'est la vie.

We managed to scrape 29th place and 2 points in the Ides of March challenge this Sunday/Monday (which I managed to fail to post here about!)

Didn't score in the Showers to Flowers challenge (PSP SIeve), but we provisionally got 28th place (7.5 points) in the PrimeGrid's Birthday/Summer Solstice challenge (PSP LLR).

Currently running the Dog Days of Summer Challenge (Woodall primes) until Sunday...

[update: finished - no points for me in 84th place, but 25th for the team gives us 12 points - subject to double-checking - for 21.5 points total for the year so far]

Nothing on individual, but came 27th for the team giving 6 points - now a running total of 27.5 points moving us up a place to 33rd - provisional scoring until double-checking is complete, but I don't expect any changes.

Team finished 38th - outside the points (I was 138th - even worse).
We always seem to do worse on the shorter challenges.
It didn't help that my nice 64bit laptop was stolen the day before - get replacement next week.

This dropped our overall position back down by a single place back down from 33rd to 34th.

The Winter Solstice Challenge starts Friday 18 Dec 2009 17:47 UTC and ends Monday 21 Dec 2009 17:47 UTC.

The final challenge of the year will be doing AP26 (for which I am the current record holder of the largest-longest sequence of primes in arithmetic progression!), which also has the widest range of client choices, including a new CUDA app.

Hope one or two of you can join in with this - I have a new laptop and a Q8300 and a couple of other beasties this time.
