3 hours in and I finally had the time to get my machines up and running. Getting work was quick and easy. I hope to do scrape by a couple points again. I just hope my faster start this time will let me hang in there.

Hope you do score again - I won't, but it'll help the team score.

Kosh - are you going to have a quick fly at this?

They put a lot more effort into prepping for the challenge this time, and it went very smoothly - I was loaded up with all the WUs I wanted within 10 minutes.

Sounds like they limited people to just 10 tests per core to start. I am guessing that last time people tried to grab work for the entire challenge right at the start and the servers got hammered. 10 would be a full day on the fastest machines so they did not cut things back too much.

Still waiting for double-checks to come in, but it looks like you made top 20 for certain - well done.

I did worse than last time, though I reckon I did enough to get us 1 place further up the team rankings than if you did it on your own, so not a total waste.

Given recent server issues after the last challenge completed, they've decided to only run LLR challenges until the server is upgraded - makes sense to me. Sophie-Germain and +1 Prime Search subprojects also on hold until then - also a good move (both of these are available for LLRnet work if anyone is interested).

Slight change - Proth Prime Search (was +1 Prime Search) is now active for LLR. The rest is still true.

The next challenge will be the Back to the Future Challenge http://www.primegrid.com/challenge/challenge.php for the Woodall Prime Search http://www.primegrid.com/forum_forum.php?id=21 - work units issued AFTER 13 September 2008 18:00 UTC and received BEFORE 27 September 2008 18:00 UTC will count for this. As this is a 14 day challenge, the top 40 placings get points - these are long WUs, so any shorter wouldn't make any sense.

As usual, I shall participate and hopefully help out the team score as long as I'm not crunching alone :-)

just in case anyone has started this, they changed the start/finish time since I posted the above - now 18:00 UTC instead of 00:00 UTC

Got all but one of the machines I can access updated for the challenge. Going to ease into this one though. With thie one being 2 weeks I need to finish the work I have going on PSP LLR before letting BOINC take over the machines.

Same here really. I'm gonna leave the machines I pulled in from SoB last time as they are - 14 days is a bit long really. But I still expect to submit a few dozen WUs within the time limit.

Took 5 days but this afternoon most of the systems finished up all their work on PSP and will be working on PG for the next week. Things should pick up about 25% from where they have been.

The last challenge points have finally been awarded. The next challenge has been announced for a 2 day on Nov 14-16. With a quick one like this it should be interesting to see what happens.

Got all the machines fired up tonight. It looks like they are buffering about an hour but I figure I will be better off then if I waited until I had time tomorrow to get things started.

Use to running LLR tests that take 24 hours. Those machines are doing these units in about 2 min. Will be interisting to see where we finish with 3 people working it this time.
