Nice!!
I've been pricing out new rigs myself...but probably going to just keep at it as is - I'm geared down already cause of the hot weather...and spent a bit more on car insurance than wanted (gotta keep the car running though). _________________ ~Tay |

Up and running. :=)
I'm playing with RAID 1 on the two HD.
Actually, it's giving me 160 Mnodes/s with no tweaking. _________________ Have fun and sport ! |

I am considering retiring my 8-core Xeon as GPUs crunch F@H so much faster and get higher PPD. It's the only thing I have that still have some value, maybe I'll give ebay a try? _________________

You could have an excellent OGR beast with this one... _________________ Have fun and sport ! |

I haven't run OGR for a while. It would be interesting to see what an 8-core Xeon would do. _________________

Best way to set up is to download the latest client here :
http://www.distributed.net/clients.html
If running Windows :
Replace dnetc.exe with the new one.
Don't modify your dnetc.ini
Open a terminal window and run as administrator :
dnetc.exe -install
This will install the program as a service (Optional)
net start dnetc
will start the newly installed service.
net stop dnetc
will stop it
If running Linux :
Replace dnetc with the new one.
Don't modify your dnetc.ini
Open a terminal window and run as administrator :
dnetc -install
This will install the program as a service (Optional)
/etc/init.d/dnetc start
will start the newly installed service.
/etc/init.d/dnetc stop
will stop it
dnetc.ini
To modify or create a new dnetc.ini you can run the executable with -config
or modify it by hand. It looks like this one below :
Code: |
[parameters]
id=the_email@you_crunch_with
[buffers]
checkpoint-filename=dnet.chk
frequent-threshold-checks=3
[triggers]
restart-on-config-file-change=yes
[display]
progress-indicator=auto-sense
[networking]
autofindkeyserver=no
keyserver=polo.sytes.net
[logging]
log-file-limit=10240
log-file=dnet.log
log-file-type=fifo
