Have a look at this page :
http://www.dc-vault.com/showteam.php?team=446
to get a list of projects where TeamGoobee is involved.
Most of them are Boinc.

Toutouf is currently running some SZTAKI Desktop Grid...

Let's see what kind of raw power my new 8-core Xeon box will have. Theoretically, it should be able to put out up to 7,040 pts per day which is more than my entire farm at this moment. Mr. Green

If this is so, I may be able to switch a core or two from my other boxes for other projects.

TNT had a team at WcG. The fact is founder was Weazy.

Dear pinky, you can create Goobee's WcG team and register it on the DC-Vault after if you can find the time to do so.

Will see if I remember after I complete my current mission of passing an old teammate on another team I was on...though I might go back to folding after I finish that.

Greetings all.

I've been stopped for some time on boinc but thought I would go ahead and park my rosetta points with the team. Until I can afford multi-core cpu's, it doesn't seem to pay to run DC as the points per kilowatt hour just aren't there. I had 8 single core cpu's all over 2.4GHZ and was being blown away by a single quad core machine. Guess they've optimized the software for it.

BTW....the website listed for the Goobee rosetta team is the old goobee@servebeer site. Not sure if that matters.

Hi Taz,

Good to see you. Not a problem with the "servebeer" domain. It's a redirect to the main URL.

I know what you mean with the single core cpus. It's pretty inefficient to run single cores now for crunching. When you consider the power consumption of 8 single core boxes to 2 quad core boxes, it's a big difference, both in your electric bill and crunching results.

Intel dual cores are excellent crunchers, my e6600 dual core crunches better than my quad cord Opteron 270 box.

There are a lot of low cost dual core processors out there but they don't crunch as well due to their small caches. When shopping, try looking for e6600 or higher in duo cores. Most of the time, they overclock on air easily to 3.0ghz or better. Quad core is the best way to go, the Q6600 retails for around $270 but I've seen them sell used for as little as $200 on the different forums.

See yah around.
