Very cool indeed. Ayden's ready to go to school now if there'll let him. Yellow Razz

Liz is graduating from college so it gives us an excuse to make the haul down to Tucson to attend the ceremonies. I'll keep you status'd on our plans. thumbup

yup... d'oh!

hey goob....while we were up in Canada on vacation, mom found a fruit she hadn't had since she moved here from the PI. good enough that she bought a whole bunch, and had to finish it up before crossing the border back here. lansones? i'm on a mission now to see if i can find it around here - i heard from a coworker they've seen it frozen occasionally. have you seen it fresh out in CA? figure if you can't find it out there, highly unlikely i'll find it around here... laughing8

It's been seen in a local pinoy market but I haven't tried it myself. I don't know if it's something seasonal. I don't go to that market often.

went wandering this weekend, and found a place that had it frozen. it had an expiration date sometime in June 2007. eeeeek promptly returned it to the shelf, then tried walking down the street checking the next couple stores (i live a few blocks away from little saigon area of town, figured that'd be a good place to check). finally hit the store i usually go to and found it (still frozen, but not past it's due date).....shoulda went there in the first place. Laughing

considered ignoring it....walked up to the cashier with a couple bags to ask how long it had actually been on the shelf/in the freezer. apparently they got it 2-3 months ago.....after she saw the date, she agreed that it probably would be wise not to buy it. Laughing

discouraging a potential sale convinced me to put it back. Razz at least they aren't like the goldilocks i see them bring in occasionally - based on the labels in the bag, they order some out of cali and sell them in the stores here. half-smashed in the shipping, and definitely not fresh. d'oh! the fruit looked more edible instead...

i go here for that....their hopia is mom's favorite, and they have excellent mocha rolls (as well as other flavored rolls). Laughing

although i did spend around $100 on goldilocks mocha and chocolate rolls, and other assorted goodies to bring back while i was out there... Embarassed figured they'd make better "souvenirs" Laughing

email notifications aren't working, btw... scratch
