That's a nice truck. I always wanted a man who had a truck, something sexy about it _________________

A couple of issues I have with that truck are:
1) I've got no use for a full blown King Cab. I've got no kids and it's way too long and hard to park.
2) Dodge still refuses to offer an Auto trans. on their top (any? ) diesel. The auto they do offer is barely adequate for the Dakota. I'd hate to see it try to handle 600ft/lbs of torque.
The GMC/Chevy diesels come with an Allison 6 speed (up this year from a 5 speed) auto tranny built to take that much torque. Not to mention the Duramax doesn't intrude nearly as much as the Cummins does.
The Chevy/GMC is just more refined and just as powerful. _________________ Socially distancing since 1970. |

I have two trucks
both are Chevy Silverado's
One is a 87 2x4
The newer one is a 02 4x4
neither one has the extra cab (although it would be nice since none of the other vehicles have towing packages)
And Im in NY |

Dodge's trucks are made to look pretty. GM's are made to run and run and run. |

Yeah, I'm not overly fond of the current GMC front ends, but they're a lot better looking than the Chevy front ends. :pukeleft: _________________ Socially distancing since 1970. |

I personally prefer front ends like this but that might be just me.

Chevys look like they are pissed off at the road. |

Yup. I hated the Avalanche front end and when they started using it as the basis for the rest of their truck designs I was pissed. At least GMC designers have softened it a bit with their grill style. I still don't care for the headlight scheme, but like I said, it's a damned sight better than Chevy's version. _________________ Socially distancing since 1970. |

Since I can't buy anything other than GM without being disowned by my father (37 years GM employee), that may be close to what I will be driving next. My little S10 ZR2 just doesn't have room for the wife and my daughter, we always have to take the wife's car to go anywhere together. Besides the Sierra 1500's get the same gas milage with a V8 that the S10 gets with a V6. _________________ Idle time is wasted time |
