Currently listening to the Breaking Benjamin - Ember album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kCbFmjEi6A
I was supposed to go see them in concert last summer but had to sell the tickets because I couldn't get the day off and couldn't call in because I was still on "newbie probation". _________________ Socially distancing since 1970. |

In kind of a mellow/mystical mood tonight. Binge watching Harry Potter movies will do that to ya.

I can listen to a little Enya. Gets on my nerve after a while but for a few songs, I'm good. _________________

It's the same with most New Age music. I've got to be in a certain frame of mind (mellow or introspective) for it.
Tonight it's V.A.S.T - Free: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRXW1thQtPM
That was the song I had blaring in the car when I drove out the front gate at Davis-Monthan for the last time when I retired. _________________ Socially distancing since 1970. |

I can visualize you speeding away from the gate in the G8 with the volume turned up. _________________

Luckily it was in the spring so it was actually cool enough to put all 4 windows down.
Bouncing around musically tonight. Aloe Blac - Ticking Bomb: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7jVqok1bqw _________________ Socially distancing since 1970. |

Just listening to a little easy rock tonight from John Carpenter:

Nice! I love his soundtracks.
Getting some cleaning and cooking done with Phantogram - You Don't Get Me High Anymore: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jryzEU7WAlg
They're actually from the local area but have had a few hits nationally.
Three Days Grace did a little heavier cover of that song while they were practicing with their new singer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0gKxgdl7Bw _________________ Socially distancing since 1970. |

Meh, I like it better with a female lead singer, the guy doesn't have the same impact.
John Carpenter is a real master with music. He just sets the mood/tone perfectly with the soundtracks for his movies. The score for "The Thing" is a perfect example. Slow methodically bass note, you know something mysterious is afoot, then the somber and dramatic theme just brings chills. Awesome stuff. _________________

I've always like Jan Hammer's soundtracks too, especially Crockett's Theme from Miami Vice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7EO6x8B8yI
They had it one the old "Pure Moods" CD I used to listen to back in the 90's whenever I needed to take a road trip to the beach and calm down from arguing with the ex. _________________ Socially distancing since 1970. |

Yep, I have an old CD of the music from Miami Vice. Definitely some good stuff from Jan Hammer on it.
Who I like also is Hans Zimmer. He has had some good ones, I especially like the music from Backdraft.

The movie was just so-so but the music was great. _________________

That's one of my pet peeves about movies these days. Just about every movies has rap in it. I get that rap is popular with the current generation but every fucking movie doesn't need rap in its soundtrack. _________________

I can tolerate some rap but not much. It's like a lot of other things these days, people trying their best to be "inclusive" and cater to minors and show how "woke" they are.
I do still have a soft spot for Coolio's Gangsta's Paradise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPO76Jlnz6c
Of course, I love Weird Al's parody of it as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOfZLb33uCg _________________ Socially distancing since 1970. |
