Not exactly new but new for me. I decided to try my luck again on ebay and found an excellent deal on a used i7 970. Runs pretty darn good at stock voltage with a mild overclock.

Got a few days of crunching in, it's running very smoothly. I like this cpu, 4ghz on default voltage which I think is fast enough for now. _________________

Not too shabby with a one generation behind CPU and chipset. Everyone is all hot about Sandy Bridge but my little Gulftown is still competitive.
My GTX 285 video card holds my overall score back.

I want a GTX 580 but am not willing to pay $400 for one. Instead, I picked up a used GTX 570 and overclocked it to GTX 580 speeds. Pretty good eh?
