Quote:
This morning at 2:00 AM, I received the worst phone call imagineable - The Paramedics were at my parent's house working on my dad. I quickly drove as fast as I could go and arrived only to hear that the Paramedics had pronounced him dead. We are all in a state of shock at this and lost for the moment. There's a lot of work to be done, I'll be out of touch and out of sorts for a while. I'll probably won't be around for a while but will check in from time to time.

Thanks all.

Sorry to hear that Goobee. Yellow Sad I wish you and your family all the best to come to terms with this loss. Take care my friend.

Commiserations. I've been there, it's not fun, but I hope you and your family get through this all the closer to each other. Best wishes...

Thanks for all the kind words. I am coping so far but it's tough. The real test will be next Tuesday, when my dad is laid to rest. That is when finality will finally set in and I'll realize his departure is permanent. Yellow Cry

Once again, thanks.

Well it's all over. I delivered my Eulogy strong and never lost composure.

Now to worry about my mom who has gone from strong to frail in a blink of an eye. Yellow Sad

Again, good luck Goobs. Hopefully your Mom will bounce back. Time heals all wounds and all of that. It's up to her to move on and find a reason to continue without him. All you can really do is support her and gently point her down the path.

Was Joe and the crew able to make it home this soon after going to Japan?

Not yet, he made a side trip and deployed to Kuwait. He's coming back soon and will make a visit to CA before going to Japan.

My sister took mom down to the cemetary today to visit dad. She cried a little, not too bad. I think she's coming around.

Better Kuwait than Afghanistan or Iraq again.

That's good to hear on your Mom. Hopefully she keeps coming around.

Yeah, that was a big contrast to a few days ago. This was a couple days before the memorial service, I took her down to the supermarket to buy a few things. She stopped and stared silently at the Valentines' display with the hearts, teddy bears, and stuff for a long time. I nearly lost it watching her. Yellow Cry
